Google Sales Finance Analyst II in Huntsville, Alabama

The Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to senior leadership, and is integral to the operations and strategy of the organization. GFiber’s Financial, Planning, and Analysis (FP&A) team is part of the broader Finance function and provides analytical and business planning support. Our work covers everything from analyzing strategies, solving complex problems, developing first-in-kind business models, managing unit economics or evaluating, and creating efficient processes for a start-up organization, with a heavy focus on operations.

Role Description

As our Sales Finance Analyst II, you are a key partner to the Sales teams, supporting and directly contributing to GFiber’s growth by providing financial analysis/insights and by managing/optimizing our sales compensation plans and processes. Using your analytical capabilities and attention to detail, you'll track performance metrics and model business scenarios to inform key strategic and operational decisions (e.g., resource allocation or new sales initiatives modeling) and help drive the performance of a growing business.

In this role, you'll:

  • Partner closely with GFiber’s Sales org to develop business plans/insights, process/productivity improvements, strategies, and resource allocations (to maximize business results).

  • Manage core Sales FP&A responsibilities, such as month-end close, collaborating with business partners and accounting to ensure accuracy of monthly financials.

  • Deliver monthly insights on sales team performance for finance and sales leadership, including cost and rep productivity analyses.

  • Support the sales compensation program, from compensation models to setting quotas, tracking, and rep bonus payouts to drive customer and revenue growth.

  • Set up robust sales finance data infrastructure to ensure data accuracy and deliver automated reporting solutions for recurring processes.

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

  • Experience presenting financial reporting and business cases to executive audiences.

  • Ability to influence with data, including experience with spreadsheet modeling, financial and decision analysis.

  • Ability to maintain and adjust pre-existing SQL code in addition to sourcing, transforming, analyzing, visualizing, and/or publishing data at scale.

It's preferred if you have:

  • MBA or Master’s degree.

  • Experience supporting Sales teams and managing sales compensation plans with related processes.

  • Experience leading cross-functional improvements to processes impacting finance or business teams.

  • Experience building new SQL scripts from scratch.

  • FP&A experience supporting business partners with financial operations, monthly reporting, and developing annual operating budgets.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $105,000 - $154,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
