SAIC Senior Electrical Engineer in HUNTSVILLE, Alabama

Description

SAIC is currently seeking to hire a Senior Electrical Engineer within our Defense and Civilian Sector to support System Integration activities for the US Army in Huntsville, AL.

A Senior Electrical Engineer is needed as part of a team providing hardware and software development solutions to S3I. Activities will include the development, integration, and postproduction sustainment support of general purpose electronics for military systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages various General Purpose Electrical Test Equipment (GPETE) end items that contain embedded software and hardware components that require sustainment. This project will monitor the test equipment software updates and review software delivery methods.

  • Prepare content and participate in meetings supporting project/program status, technical reviews and project milestones.

  • Present weekly status performance reports.

  • Participate in software Configuration Control Boards and Integrated Product Teams to analyze, estimate and prioritize proposed changes.

  • Participate in software systems engineering activities, technical reviews, and technical exchange meetings to document issues; as well as evaluate issues and provide resolutions.

  • Participate in GPETE system integration for product development and testing.

  • Analyze/Implement changes for the GPETE based on the vendor release information.

  • Plan, document, and execute GPETE software testing and generate test reports.

  • Develop and maintain the GPETE test environments and instrumentation.

  • Document requirements for deficiencies or features in a Software Requirements Specification.

  • Monitor work performed by Subcontractor in support of the Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) Maintenance Support Device (MSD) program.

  • Identify and manage electrical/electronic hardware requirements.

  • Generate and Review documentation for a Technical Data Package (TDP) associated with the design, development, unit test, and integration of hardware/firmware components.

  • Experience with military radar systems, electronic countermeasures, weapon fire control systems and systems integration highly desirable.

Qualifications

Education:

  • BS in Electrical / Computer Engineering plus a minimum of eight (8) years of experience; MS in Engineering plus a minimum of six (6) years of experience.

Required Clearance:

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one prior to start date; US Citizenship required.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in using MS Office suite.

  • Experience designing, developing, and integrating hardware and/or mechanical components.

  • Excellent communication skills and mechanical aptitude.

Desired Skills :

  • MS Visio, schematic capture program such as Altium Designer, circuit simulation program such as SPICE.
