COLSA Corporation Senior Systems Engineer (Multiple Launch Rocket System-MLRS) in Huntsville, Alabama

COLSA is actively seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the MLRS program in Huntsville, AL. The qualified candidate will perform systems engineering activities related to the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) and should be able to think holistically about a system and its requirements, with excellent critical thinking skills, applying them to all aspects of the MLRS. The selected candidate will work in an Agile environment and attend regular scrum meetings, develop new requirements, export requirement verification matrices from DOORS, author technical documentation, and perform other related systems engineering tasks. Note that the SEs in this position actively use DOORS and do not simply interact with a DOORS administrator for requirement data.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

· Develop and apply advanced techniques in the investigation and solution of advanced system requirements and problems *

· Design, develop, maintain, and support technical infrastructure that includes network, hardware, database, and/or system software components *

· Perform advanced technical planning, system integration, and verification and validation, evaluating alternatives

· Analyze and resolve difficult and complicated program support deficiencies *

· Guide configuration, debugging, and support for infrastructure and ensure all quality and change control standards are met

· Plan, conduct, and technically direct projects or major phases of significant projects *

· Coordinate efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects *

· Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity *

· Review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects

· Review completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and make recommendations to management *

Required SkillsRequired Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field such as information systems, engineering, or other related field, or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 10 years related experience

  • Ability to obtain/maintain DoD SECRET security clearance; US Citizenship required

  • Strong background in analyzing existing system requirements and the ability to assimilate the interaction of these requirements with other functional areas such as Software Safety, Test, and Cyber

  • Experience supporting Systems Engineering throughout the Life Cycle of full Software development

  • Experience such as establishing links between requirements, creating objects in DOORS modules, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in related field

  • Good understanding or experience working with system engineering throughout the Army Acquisition Life Cycle would be considered a very strong plus

  • Experience with data support in IBM DOORS 9.6.x is a plus

  • Experience with Microsoft Azur DevOps (ADO) in requirement support is a plus
