Description

Actalent is seeking a Software Test and Automation Engineer to join our team. This position is full-time and can be based in either Huntsville, AL or Chantilly, VA. The ideal candidate will have a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. The role involves creating software tests, automating test cases, and performing application testing to validate bugs and isolate issues. The engineer will also be responsible for configuration management, change management, and release management, as well as testing high-performance and large-scale immersive systems. The candidate will evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies, and will design, implement, and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Create software tests and automate test cases.

  • Perform application testing, validate bugs, and isolate issues.

  • Write and initiate tests, analyze, and report test results in the ticketing system.

  • Perform configuration management, change management, and release management.

  • Test high-performance and large-scale immersive systems.

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies.

  • Design, implement, and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met.

  • Develop, maintain, and upgrade automated test scripts and architectures for application products.

  • Write, implement, and report status for system test cases.

  • Analyze test cases and provide regular progress reports.

  • Serve as a subject matter specialist providing testing know-how for complex to highly complex software/hardware applications.

  • Direct and/or participate in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development, emphasizing analysis of user requirements, test design, and test tools selection.

  • Design, plan, create, execute, and provide System(s) test reports.

  • Review government test plans and test reports for technical competence, effectiveness, and compliance with standards.

  • Observe and evaluate the execution of customer acceptance test activities.

  • Perform integration activities involving developed application software.

  • Identify and document problems and issues, providing specific guidance on root-cause and remediation.

  • Analyze the requirements for each test event and assist in scheduling System(s) non-operational environment test assets.

  • Support the presentation and formal review or audit of test results, providing briefing and decision support material.

  • Maintain and provide controls for multiple test software and hardware baselines.

Essential

Skills

  • Minimum of 6 years experience in software testing and automation.

  • Top Secret Clearance (eligible for SCI).

  • Degree in a relevant field.

  • Strong knowledge of software testing and automation tools and techniques.

  • Proficiency in test case creation, bug validation, and issue isolation.

  • Experience with configuration management, change management, and release management.

  • Ability to evaluate and recommend automated test tools and strategies.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $98000.00 - $98000.00
