This individual will work alongside the Alabama Test Operations' Maintenance team at MSFC, in Huntsville, AL. As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team, you will be responsible for supporting MSFC Test Stand 4670's fluid component rebuild, troubleshooting, as well as the initial build/construction for upgrades to the stand in support of development, qualification and acceptance testing of Blue Engines. You will share in the teams impact on all aspects of maintaining and upgrading the various components that make up the MSFC 4670 test facility including, but not limited to, valves, regulators, filters, check valves, and flow meters for various high and low pressure fluid systems as well as cryogenic fluid systems. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. This job is a 1st shift position, but will require ability to perform job duties outside of normal shift hours as needed. 10-20% Travel may also be required to support other sites during surge needs.
Responsibilities:
Strong written, personal, and computer skills. Ability to communicate clearly and promptly within all areas of the organization
Follow work instructions and drawings to perform disassembly, inspection, assembly of various mechanical and electro-mechanical components.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for permanent problem resolution
Perform functional test of various components (valves, filters, regulators, etc.) for acceptance using high pressure pneumatics, cryogenics, or hydraulics. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions using work instructions.
Setup and operate test panels using flow meters, pumps, timers, power supplies, electrical meters, oscilloscopes, gages, Data Acquisition System (DAQ), and other auxiliary test equipment to record system data as needed.
Assist in the design and fabrication of component checkouts as requested by engineering.
Ability to maintain a high level of organization in workspaces to meet strict FOD and 5S requirements
Ensure all components supporting assembly/materials are maintained clean and properly protected according to assembly specifications for fuel/oxygen systems
Perform and coordinate periodic maintenance of equipment needed to perform component rebuild, troubleshooting, and checkouts.
Perform periodic hydro or pneumatic proof tests of all flexible hoses used in workspace.

``` - Participate in Test Readiness and Risk Assessment Reviews to ensure compliance with Blue Origin Health and Safety Manual requirements.
Review new designs for maintainability and operability.
Monitor and maintain a reasonable inventory of cryogenic equipment, including transfer and storage Dewars, transfer tubes, fittings, hoses, and other supplies needed for performing component checkouts and build.
Provide technical training and guidance for coworkers responsible for integration of Fluid Systems components.
Support area Supervisors / Managers to develop specialized training/OJT packages as required
Identify opportunities for workspaces, tools, manufacturing aids, safety improvements, and/or equipment that will improve operations and maintenance (OandM) up-keep of test facility components.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with relative experience and/or 15 years of experience in the assembly and test of test stand facilities, aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle fluid systems components -- or equivalent relevant industry experience.

``` - Experience handling clean hardware in a maintain cleanliness fashion.
Proficient computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
Knowledge of high pressure, cryogenic, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical power systems.
Ability to safely work around pressurized systems up to 10,000 PSIG
Approachable disposition, broad-minded and open to rapid changing requirements
Calming demeanor in high pressure situations with tenacity to resolve conflict for permanent problem resolution

Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Must be able to gain access to Redstone Arsenal.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of precision cleaning and sampling within an IOS-5 clean room.
Working knowledge of aerospace cleanliness specs for Clean Room activities, and Manufacturing environments
Experience with Creo Parametric, Creo View and Windchill
Experience with fabrication techniques for component hardware modifications or creation of spare material from raw stock
Experience in a direct supervision/leadership position
Experienced in handling large components
