Your Mission:

As a Storage-focused IT Systems Engineer, you will be instrumental in implementing, integrating, and supporting a cutting-edge, multi-site classified network solution: DarkStar!

With extensive hands-on experience with NetApp storage systems, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing storage solutions for enterprise-level operations. You will ensure business continuity through replication services, capacity planning, troubleshooting storage connectivity issues, and managing the storage environment to support our critical applications and business processes. You will closely work with the larger DarkStar system engineering and network teams.

Key Responsibilities and Opportunities:

• Successfully configure, manage, and optimize Cisco switches, routers, Juniper, and Palo Alto firewalls for seamless integration and support.

• Collaborate with the system administration team to deploy new sites and maintain network performance.

• Demonstrate expertise in Storage Hardware and System configuration, ensuring efficient data management and access.

• Work across diverse platforms, from enterprise servers to small/midsize servers and supercomputers, for system installations, upgrades, configurations, and troubleshooting.

• Provide critical support to the operations center, ensuring successful sustainment operations.

How about every other Friday off? This role is scoped on a 9x80 schedule! All work must be performed on-site in our secure facility in Huntsville, AL – and may include some occasional off-shift hours, weekends, and limited travel.

Basic Qualifications:

• Hands-on experience in current enterprise level NetApp SAN/NAS storage design, networking, configuration, capacity management, troubleshooting and maintenance of highly available enterprise data storage systems

• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on Linux experience (e.g. RHEL, CentOS) and production infrastructure support (e.g. networking, storage, monitoring, compute, installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade, retirement)

• Experience in system administration and technical support (e.g. installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade, retirement, problem resolution)

• Proficiency in technical writing and documentation of solutions

• Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly across organization boundaries

• Self-starter with the ability to spot potential for process improvement

• Capable of building effective relationships with teams and subject matter experts

• Manage storage system backups and disaster recovery plans

• Perform storage system monitoring and reporting

Desired Skills:

• Strong IT skills in infrastructure, applications & hardening systems

• Experience in implementing changes and security controls in a global framework.

• Experience with script writing, PowerShell, Ansible, Python or other automation/scripting

• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8

• Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) Requirements and Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) Implementation

• Experience w/ Virtualization (i.e., VMware, Horizon, vSphere, vCenter, vCloud, vRealize, NSX, vSAN or VXRail)

• RHCSA or NetApp Certified Professional a plus

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
