  • Focus on supporting the development and review of interface documents, system/subsystem requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews

  • Provide use case briefing development support to junior systems engineering team members to enhance use case skills in the department

  • Perform the work under the direction of the Systems Engineering Lead, various product owners and require interfacing with team members, management, and government customers to ensure high quality products are generated on time and within the resources available

  • Additionally, responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to DOORS processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to customer working level counterparts on an as-required basis

  • Be actively involved in the efforts associated with Agile development including iteration planning, statusing, and agile team leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Math, Science, Engineering, or Software Engineering

  • Relevant experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, and specialty engineers to develop solutions that includes a background in all aspects of the systems development life cycle

  • Demonstrated contributions to implementation that includes the ability to analyze high level needs and defined a structured and logical approach to refine the capability into an integrated set of requirements that led to a fielded product

  • Demonstrated the ability to communicate effectively, clearly present technical approaches and findings, and have experience in writing and implementing engineering plans within a project

  • Must possess an understanding of systems engineering process and principles

  • Should have a proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions

  • Experience in decomposing requirements from parent level requirements to lower system/subsystem level requirements

  • Experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g., Interface Control Documents, Use Cases Briefings, Sequence Diagrams, etc.)

  • Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings

  • Must be able to write and implement engineering plans within a project

  • Experience working within an Agile development environment

  • Domain experience with both Space and Missile Defense

    Additional required skills required include:

  • Requirements elicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components

  • Maintenance of system and component baselines in a requirement management system

  • Defining the relationships between internal and external components

  • Communicating system level use cases and associated Epics and Feature relationships to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, stand and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to work station. Occasionally, movement that requires twisting at the neck and/or trunk more than the average person, squatting/ stooping/kneeling, reaching above the head, and forward motion will be required. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
