BR&T Product Standards Office team is seeking a Technical Drafter to join the team in Huntsville, Alabama. Other locations available are the following: North Charleston, South Carolina; Mesa, Arizona; Hazelwood, Missouri. We are seeking an Entry or Associate Level Technical Drafter.

Here in the Product Standards Office, we work hard around the clock to keep those airplanes flying, and to continually raise the bar for technical excellence, making our products the fastest and safest means of transportation on the planet.

The Product Standards Office has earned a reputation within Boeing as a go-to organization for fast development and deployment of all types of Product Standards. Over the last 5 years our teammates have processed and released thousands of Standards to support the complete product life cycle for all Enterprise programs!

Position Responsibilities:

  • Technical collaboration with the Boeing Engineering community, representatives from other Boeing functions, and the external standards community for the development and configuration management of data related to Boeing Product Standards and external Government and Industry Standards

  • Communication and computing tool use for the management of this data; the associated statement of work for this position has enterprise wide impact

  • Translates engineering requirements into product definition data to communicate requirements to downstream customers

  • Validates completed product definition data to Company and industry standards

  • Creates and maintains product definition data processes

  • Maintains product/part model structure and configuration management of CAD representations for Part Standards data delivery at an Enterprise level

  • Follows specific instructions to translate sketches or layouts and written specifications of engineering requirements into product definition data (e.g., detail, assembly and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) data) based on applicable standards and established precedents

  • Assists with self-validation of product definition data to ensure the accuracy of completed work

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

  • ​Associate’s Degree or higher, a Technical certificate or degree, or 1 or more years of equivalent technical experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience with NX and/or CATIA 3D systems

  • Experience with parametric modeling, Teamcenter, or XML coding

  • Experience with configuration management principles

Typical Education/Experience:

Entry (Level 1):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. 2 years' related work experience).

Associate (Level 2):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.)

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range Entry Level: $42,500 – $57,500

Summary pay range Associate Level: $52,700 - $71,300
