BAE Systems in Huntsville Alabama (HAL) is seeking multiple talented engineers/analysts interested in autonomous weapon development and M&S) to join our growing Systems Engineering Team working on state of the art weapon solutions within the Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line in the Precision Strike (PS) Business Area. Applicants should have experience in either weapon systems concept development, autonomy, operational analysis, or M&S. Experience in more than one is a plus! Successful candidates will be comfortable working in M&S environments developed in C and MATLAB to explore, assess, and validate autonomous weapon concepts. Finally, ideal candidates will have the technical and interpersonal skills necessary to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative team.

The role may also encompass the following Engineering duties:

  • Daily collaboration with project development teams, as well the project management

  • Support weapon ConOps, architectures, requirements, models, and simulations

  • Support weapon operational analysis, including system/mission effectiveness, survivability, and lethality

  • Support system trade studies

  • Support proposal development and business capture activities

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it may take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely. However, primary work location is expected to be at the BAE Systems Huntsville, AL facility. Travel is estimated at no more than 10%.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Candidate must possess BS or higher in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or equivalent

  • 3 years relevant experience developing and analyzing weapon systems concepts, designs, or M&S

  • Motivated self-starter and problem solver with proven experience executing in diverse multi-disciplinary teams

  • Already possess, or be about to obtain, a DoD Secret Clearance, or higher

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Experience in one or more of the following, is a plus!

  • Experienced in sensor or munition/missile M&S development and analysis

  • Skilled in using one or more M&S tools and methodologies to perform weapon system effectiveness, survivability, and lethality analyses

  • Experienced in research, develop and test of weapon autonomy solutions

  • Skilled in one or more software and engineering languages, to include C , MATLAB, Simulink, Python, and/or Java

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $102200 - $173700

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
