Shifts: C shift (5:00am - 5:00pm Fri-Sun, 4 hours remote to complete full time schedule)

Overview: Join a passionate team of experts supporting the manufacturing of launch vehicle subassemblies. As a Welding Process Engineer, you will create and stabilize consistent welding processes focusing on quality and repeatability. You will work directly in the welding work centers to resolve production issues and enhance product flow. This role demands expertise in aerospace hardware welding, including laser and clad techniques, process planning, documentation, inspection, testing, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee welding of rocket engine components, ensuring timely completion.

  • Stabilize welding processes and make real-time adjustments to address issues.

  • Interface with welders, technicians, and production control leads to manage throughput.

  • Translate engineering drawings into consistent welding processes and work instructions.

  • Develop clear manufacturing plans to eliminate ambiguous work details.

  • Manage and improve product quality, safety, ergonomics, scrap reduction, and cost.

  • Author non-conformance reports and recommend improvements.

  • Maintain hardware configuration throughout the build process.

  • Design, procure, install, and qualify custom manufacturing equipment and fixtures.

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Aerospace Engineering.

  • 3-5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace or automotive production.

  • Proficient in GD&T, drawing interpretation, welding practices, raw material sizing, and weld schedule development.

  • Knowledge of preventative and predictive welding equipment maintenance programs.

  • Experience in planning and controlling welding processes, including laser and clad techniques.

  • Proven track record in maintaining and improving processes.

  • Strong written, technical, and software skills (MRP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Ability to develop processes compliant with AS9100.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Flexibility to support second shift and weekends occasionally.

Desired:

  • Experience with Design systems (CREO, AutoCAD, Solidworks).

  • Familiarity with SAP and other MRP systems.

  • Knowledge of metal fabrication and advanced welding techniques.

  • Experience with aerospace or space-bound turbine engine manufacturing.
