Apply for, receive, and administer grant money from all available federal and state programs such as the Housing Opportunity Fund and HOME funds for housing rehab grants for low income residents of Beadle County.

Provide assistance to property owners to inform them of, and help them apply for, grants and loans that can help them purchase a home, and/or pay for repairs and upgrades to their homes.

Assist residents in obtaining contractor bids and estimates for rehab work.

Create, fund, and administer a revolving loan fund for housing rehab activities for moderate income residents.

5.

Examine current city ordinances, county ordinances, and state laws in order to determine how the legal avenues for dealing with blighted properties can be improved and streamlined. Work closely with city departments to encourage residents to access available rehab funds.

Help Develop new and innovative programs to benefit the community.
