Location: Hybrid, New York, NY

Schedule: Full-time, 9am - 5pm Monday - Friday EST

Position Overview:

Director, Quality Improvement (H2H & Community Programs) will work closely with the Vibrant Emotional Health’s AVP of Quality Improvement to direct, plan, and organize the staff and activities of the quality/performance improvement program to achieve approved clinical goals and strategic operating plans and objectives.

This position provides quality improvement (QI) oversight to Vibrant’s Here2Help (H2H) Contact Center and Community Programs (including Adolescent Skills Centers, Geriatric ACT, Youth & Family Wellness Services among others) and with key stakeholders such as DOHMH, OMH, ACS and others to develop, implement and track quality improvement measures. This role ensures compliance with several regulatory agencies in accordance with internal and external requirements/regulations. This role promotes effective client safety and performance improvement initiatives to improve processes and outcomes of client care. This new role is an exciting opportunity that will require regular, ongoing interaction, collaboration, and coordination with external stakeholders, and Vibrant leadership and staff.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities, including influence, inspiring others, coaching, and developing their team to achieve deep impact.

  • Work collaboratively with various departments, teams, and stakeholders to align quality improvement efforts with overall business goals and objectives.

  • Facilitates a multidisciplinary approach to issue resolution and process improvement; including oversight of agency QI work plan for programs and the contact center

    Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills to gather, analyze, and interpret data related to quality metrics, performance indicators, and process outcomes.

  • Proficiency in using statistical tools and software for data analysis.

  • Proficiency in designing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics, along with the ability to create comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management.

  • Ensure comprehensive training and exposure to industry-leading practices for all staff.

    Decision Making:

  • Responsible for executing and overseeing recommendations derived from investigations and audits.

  • Define, execute and continuously improve agency-wide systems through program(s) and contact center performance monitoring, operational audits, internal and external data analysis, and the production of regular, timely, performance reporting as mutually defined with the agency’s program leaders.

    Scope of Responsibility/Accountability:

  • Ability to align quality improvement strategies with the organization's overall strategic objectives, ensuring that quality initiatives contribute to long-term success.

  • Regularly assess and guide your team through formal evaluations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Facilitate knowledge-sharing by disseminating best practices and lessons learned among team members.

  • Conduct and oversee thorough audits and reviews of department, program, and agency practices, offering insightful recommendations to enhance process efficiency and the overall quality of services provided.

    Managing/Direct Work:

  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external to ensure that programs meet the clinical quality needs of the consumers served.

  • Understanding of change management principles and strategies to effectively lead and guide teams through process changes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.

    Job Knowledge:

  • Identify program related data needs to help recognize programmatic trends and best practices; including gathering data needed for Levels of Service reports.

  • Apply QI principles and models such as Lean Six Sigma to streamline processes and eliminate inefficiencies.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Public Health or Social Science required.

  • Master's degree in Healthcare, Public Health or Social Sciences (along with professional clinical licensure LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, PhD, PsyD if applicable ) preferred .

  • 5+ years of relevant experience within the non-profit sector, mental health, suicide prevention, crisis intervention and/or mental health information and referral services.

  • Experience in Medicaid programs as well as government contracted and/or philanthropically funded services preferred.

  • Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards in the behavioral health field.

  • Extensive experience in quality improvement, compliance management, and clinical quality within behavioral health settings.

  • 3+ years in a supervisory/managerial role

    Physical Requirements:

  • Hybrid/Some travel to work- related activities [at times away from permanent residence]

  • Mostly sedentary work; using standard office equipment including: a computer, keyboard, and telephone

  • Requires on screen presence during pertinent meetings

  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, families, service providers and others

  • Ability to remain calm and composed under stress

  • Ability to respond to telephones and other auditory stimulation

  • Ability to evaluate/interpret information and make independent judgment/decisions
