Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Indirect Radiobioassay Technical Lead to work in our Environment, Safety, Health and Quality (ESH&Q) department. Our team works onsite with a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.
You will report to the Radiological Control Dosimetry Manager. You will provide expertise in assuring the RadCon program is implemented observing the requirements of 10 CFR 835, applicable DOE Orders and standards, the INL Radiological Control Manual, associated INL Radiological Control procedures and DOELAP requirements.
Responsibilities Include:·
- Responsible for the BEA Indirect Radiobioassay Program, including managing radioanalytical laboratory subcontract(s).
- Support the successful operation and DOELAP accreditation of the BEA indirect radiobioassay program.
- Be the indirect radiobioassay program subject matter expert including radioanalytical techniques and processes. Ensure that onsite support practices meet the requirements of the quality assurance plan and that quality control (QC) provision requirements are implemented at required frequencies.
- Be the quality assurance officer for direct radiobioassay program by reviewing and approving direct radiobioassay procedures based on current regulations, requirements and standards, operational data, or personnel recommendations.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, operations, and other technical resources.
- Communicate results to internal and external sponsors through written technical reports and oral presentations.
- Create reports and provide materials for documentation.
- May develop/recommend changes in program processes and procedures. Ensure that onsite support practices meet the requirements of applicable regulations, the quality assurance plan and that quality control (QC) provision requirements are implemented at required frequencies.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
*Minimum Requirements: *
- Level 3: Bachelor’s and 5 years of relevant experience or Master’s and 2 years of relevant experience.
- Level 4: Bachelor’s and 9 years of relevant experience or Master’s and 6 years of relevant experience.
- Professional experience with low-level radiochemistry methods, processes, equipment, and quality processes.
- You will be subject to the requirements of DOE O 142.3B, Unclassified Foreign National Access Program.
Desired Experience:
- Experience with DOELAP, formal additional professional-level education or experience in internal dosimetry.
- Radioanalytical statistics experience

- The pay range for this position is: Level 3 ($91,008 - $186,588 ) / Level 4 ($109,260 - $223,908 ). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
