Position Title: AMWTP Shift Supervisor

Work Location: Site - AMWTP

Shift Schedule: rotating 4X12s

Salary Grade: 17 Range: Min \$92,785.00 Mid \$115,985.00 Max \$144,985.00

Position Purpose:

The AMWTP Shift Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring consistent excellence in operations personnel in the performance of work at RWMC-AMWTP. This position will utilize operations experience, a working knowledge of DOE and company procedures/requirements, strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and a routine presence in the work area to clearly define and reinforce expectations and working standards. The shift supervisor will take an active and aggressive role in eliminating barriers to efficient operations in support of project goals and develop a culture of continuous improvement to ensure lasting benefit to the Idaho Cleanup Project.

Minimum Qualification Requirements (Education/Experience):

High school diploma

Effective written and oral communication skills

Strong organizational skills

Computer skills

Must be able to obtain/maintain Sift Supervisor qualification for assigned area

Must be able to work rotating 12-hour shifts

Position Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Ensure crews are adequately staffed and trained to support project activities in accordance with principles of Integrated Safety Management, Voluntary Protection Program, Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance, and company policies. Review all aspects of operations to ensure work is being performed in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure assigned areas are operated and maintained in a safe manner via direct supervision, oversite, and direction.
  • Identify inefficient work practices or deficient work practices and implement actions/solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Routinely communicate with workers to assess effectiveness of work activities and assist in elimination of barriers to achieve operational success.
  • Continually assess crew performance, training, by positively reenforcing desired behaviors or correcting negative performance as necessary.
  • Interface with other organizations and customers.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety documents and policies.
  • Ensure work is performed in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Support Emergency Response Organization.
  • Perform daily and pre-job briefs for work to be performed.
  • Conduct routine observations/surveillances of conduct of operations for rigor, discipline, formality, safety, and efficiency.
  • Provide routine written and verbal feedback on the conduct of operations and assist operations management and supervision in corrective action plans.

Reports to Operations Manager, or designee, and the plant shift manager:

  • Supervises operators based on organizational priorities.
  • Oversees the activities of operators.
  • Execute operational priorities set by the operations manager.
  • Oversee the execution of DSA, TSR, CWR, and NMSL for treatment facility (TF) activities (RESPONSIBLE FOR SAFETY).
  • Supports emergency response organization (ERO) as on-scene command.
  • Performs OJT instructor duties for operators and other shift supervisors as assigned.
  • Recommend qualification approval for treatment facility (TF) personnel.
  • Recommend disqualification of TF personnel in accordance with MCP-4026.
  • Recommend changes to TF procedures as well as TF training and qualification materials.
  • Provides daily pre-job briefs.
  • Miscellaneous support as requested by management.
  • Obtain and maintain assigned qualifications.
  • Coordinate with other organization for routine and other support needs.
  • Generates daily watch bill in accordance with operation priorities and available manpower.
  • Releases work on plan of day (POD) that will be performed in TF.
  • Authorizes release for all Lockout/Tagout items in TF.
  • Acts as primary authorized employee (PAE) for Lockout/Tagout in TF.
