Overall purpose of the job
As part of continued growth within the Alight NGA Kochi shared services division, Alight NGA HR are now seeking potential candidate to join the Finance Controllership team. The ideal candidate will need to be proficient in accounting and he/she must be able to work collaboratively with teams to execute tasks within defined timeframes while maintaining high-quality standards and superior service levels. The ability to take proactive actions and willingness to take up responsibility beyond the assigned work area is a plus.
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for maintenance of fixed assets, including asset registration, disposals, acquisitions, transfers, etc of various entities within the group.
Preparation and maintenance of the fixed asset register, analyse fixed asset-related reports, including depreciation schedules, capital expenditure forecasts, variance analyses, etc.
Perform account reconciliations and resolve the reconciling items in a timely manner.
Prepare ad-hoc reports based on business requirements provided by stakeholders and resolving ad-hoc queries from onsite counterpart.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls related to Fixed Assets
Ensure accurate documentation by promptly updating process documents for all fixed asset-related tasks.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits, providing documentation and explanations related to fixed asset transactions and controls.
Identify opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness for improvements in process.
Serve as an individual contributor, taking ownership of fixed assets accounting processes and delivering high-quality results autonomously.
Eligibility to Apply
Relevant Experience: Minimum 5 years in General Ledger / Fixed Asset Accounting
Education: Graduate in Commerce (preferred)/ Qualified / Semi qualified ACA/ACCA/CMA/CIMA or MBA (Finance)
Rigorous attention to details, professional attitude, reliable
Ability to work to deadlines and prioritisation skills.
Excellent problem-solving, conflict resolution and decision-making capabilities
