Job Title: Welder

Job Description

We are hiring MIG welders of all levels. Whether you're an entry-level candidate or have an AWS certification, we have opportunities for you. Entry-level candidates will start with tacking off production and gradually move to fabrication on the floor. All work will be inspected. Candidates must take a weld test, which includes reading a blueprint and a math test (including fractions). Only steel welding will be performed, though TIG experience is a plus. Ideal candidates have experience in tank and structural welding. Our company manufactures various items mainly in the construction industry, such as radiators and cascade systems. We also collaborate with engineering firms on new builds. Primarily, the job involves MIG welding on structural steel, with some custom fabrication, metal breaking, welding, painting, and CNC work, serving industries like automotive, heavy equipment, housing, hydraulics, construction, and agriculture.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Independence, Iowa.

Work Environment

Smaller shop with around 20-25 people, aiming to almost double. Typical shop environment, so candidates must have thick skin and be ready to work. Hours: 1st shift starts at 6 am, with a non-paid break from 9 to 9:15 am, a non-paid lunch from 12 to 12:30 pm, and ends at 2:45 pm. Dress code: Must have own steel-toed boots; the rest is provided.
