Job Summary Job Description Position Summary: The Project Manager for Nidec Industrial Solutions - Americas (NIS), will be responsible for NIS-Americas' customer project executions to deliver customer satisfaction (Quality & Delivery) and profitability (Cost). NIS is established as a world leader in electrical control systems for heavy industries including: Steel, Paper, Mining, Cranes, and Power Generation. We provide turn-key engineering, manufacture, installations and startups of electrical, controls, and automation systems for these industries. The Project Manager will directly manage projects [typically 4-5 simultaneously at different stages of progress/completion] while working closely with Customers, Installation contractors, NIS Engineering, Field Service, Procurement, and Contracts to ensure successful project completions. Essential Job Functions Lead and manage cross-functional teams on electrical and controls projects to deliver commitments on schedule, under budget, and exceeding customer expectations 'Execution face' of NIS: Communicate and meet with customers through the life of each project Review, summarize, and communicate the contractual requirements, milestones, and criticalities to stakeholders Prepare and present reporting of progress and financials of Projects under management Manage risks & mitigation using NIS Project Management tools Assist estimation and preparation of bids working with functions and sub-contractors/vendors Working Conditions OSHA compliant manufacturing facility Standard office environment, standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines Up to 20% Travel for bid site visits, installation meetings and site supervision if required Able to physically travel and traverse industrial and commercial sites including heights, long walking distances and flights of stairs Education/License Requirements Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology degree, or equivalent PMP certification PE Certification a plus MS Project Server & Power BI experience preferred Experience Requirements 3+ years' direct experience in industrial projects management. Experience with Electrical, Controls, and high-power applications will be a plus Working knowledge of NEC, OSHA and NFPA codes Project management tools experience - MS Project Server, MS Projects, SharePoint, Power BI POC Accounting familiarity preferred SAP environment experience preferred Preferred Traits: Well organized, task driven individual Communicator - consistent, effective, clear, timely, and polite (internal & external communication) Self-motivated - Able to perform duties with little supervision Level-Headed - Ability to stay calm and make the best business decisions under pressure Additional Job Details Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at Nidec No Soliciting Nidec will not accept unsolicited resumes from individual recruiters or third party recruiting agencies in response to Nidec job postings.
