Reference #: 4534968 THE POSITION Are you a motivated individual with a passion for wildlife management? The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking for a 3 Year Limited Term Wildlife Technician to work in the black bear program in the Southwest Region. You will be a member of a wildlife management team supported by the Bureau of Wildlife Management (BWM), working together to achieve agency goals. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As part of a wildlife management team, your role will involve providing field support for the implementation of BWM and region programs. You will work alongside other team members, such as wildlife management supervisors, wildlife biologists, technicians, bio-aides, and interns, to achieve the agency's goals and objectives. Your responsibilities will include professional wildlife management tasks like capturing, handling, marking, and monitoring birds and mammals, with a specific focus on black bears. Additionally, you will be involved in wildlife population monitoring, assessing wildlife response to habitat management, and monitoring wildlife health. It will be your responsibility to ensure that projects and surveys adhere to established guidelines and meet designated deadlines.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: 3 Year Limited Term Full-time employment. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.   REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Graduation from an Associate Degree Program in Wildlife Management; or Any combination of experience or training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Special Requirements: This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
