Digital Core Tech@Lilly is actively looking for an Artificial Intelligence Cloud Engineer who is passionate about harnessing the power of AI to optimize cloud environments and develop innovative cloud solutions. This role is ideal for those who are motivated by complex technical challenges, have a mastery of cloud architecture and AI technologies, and have a strong interest in leveraging AI to solve practical, real-world problems. As an AI Cloud Engineer, you will work on technology teams building solutions that improve performance and reliability of processes and systems in pharma. What You'll Be Doing:

Cloud AI Integration: Develop and implement AI-powered algorithms within our cloud platforms to improve automation and operational efficiencies. Leverage machine learning and data analytics to enhance resource management and service offerings.

AI-Driven Cloud Architecture: Design resilient and scalable cloud architectures that integrate advanced AI functions. Ensure that our cloud solutions are not only robust but also capable of evolving with the technological landscape.

Performance Optimization: Utilize AI to analyze and optimize the performance of cloud systems, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimizing costs. Implement predictive analytics to foresee potential system failures or bottlenecks and proactively rectify them.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, system architects, and product managers to embed AI technologies into our cloud services. Foster a collaborative environment that aligns technological developments with strategic business goals.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in AI and cloud computing. Drive innovation by testing and adopting new technologies that can provide competitive advantages.

Ethical AI Deployment: Adhere to ethical standards in AI usage, ensuring that all AI solutions comply with privacy laws and regulatory requirements, and uphold the integrity and security of user data.

What You Should Bring:

Proven Experience in AI and Cloud Computing: Extensive hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with implementing AI solutions in these environments.

Advanced Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala, and experience with AI frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.

Strong Foundation in Cloud Architecture: Solid understanding of modern cloud infrastructure, services, and security practices, including experience with serverless architectures, microservices, and containerization technologies.

Innovative Thinking: A strong track record of innovation in applying AI to solve practical problems and improve technological functionalities.

Ethical and Secure Engineering Practices: A commitment to maintaining high standards of ethics and security in all engineering and data handling practices.

Your Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of cloud technology leadership experience with a strong foundation in cloud services and infrastructure.

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience integrating AI technologies such as machine learning and deep learning with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.)

Additional Preferences:

  • Advanced AI Expertise: Proficiency in implementing advanced AI technologies, including machine learning, deep learning (using frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch), and natural language processing.

  • Programming Skills: Expertise in programming languages crucial for cloud-based AI integration, such as Python, Java, or Scala. Experience with AI-specific libraries and APIs is highly valued.

  • Cloud Services Proficiency: Extensive experience with major cloud services providers like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, particularly in deploying and managing AI environments. Certifications in these platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect) are preferred.

  • Full Stack Development: Knowledge of full stack development including both front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React) and back-end systems (Node.js, Django, Flask).

  • API Design and Development: Experience with designing and implementing RESTful APIs to integrate with front-end services and facilitate backend data processing.

  • Database Management: Familiarity with database technologies, both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra), to handle data flow and storage efficiently.

  • CI/CD Pipelines: Skilled in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for seamless code integration and deployment using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI.

  • Data Manipulation and Analysis: Proficiency with data manipulation tools (Pandas, NumPy) and experience using data visualization libraries and tools.

  • Collaboration and Leadership: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment. Capability to lead projects, mentor junior developers, and drive initiatives within cross-functional teams.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Experience in industries with strict data security and privacy regulations, such as financial services or healthcare, providing a clear understanding of compliance requirements.

  • Continuous Learning: Eagerness to engage in continuous professional development to keep pace with advancements in AI, cloud technology, and full-stack development.

Additional Information:

  • Position located in Indianapolis, Indiana working in a hybrid model. Remote work within the US may be considered.

  • Travel may be required periodically.
