National Dentex Dental Lab Technician II (Denture Setup) in Indianapolis, Indiana

Description

Join National Dentex - a leading healthcare organization specializing in the dental industry! We offer a full spectrum of specialized products, services, and technologies to address any dental restoration need. Currently, we have 50 labs throughout the country. We are seeking to fill a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX Lumident Dental Lab located in Indianapolis, IN, for a full time Dental Lab Technician II (Denture Setup).

The regular hours for this position are 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist.

  • Check models for defect that need correcting before fabrication begins

  • Check articulation of models for proper occlusal relationship

  • Post dam upper models

  • Set pin on articulator to establish vertical relationship

  • Double check teeth to be used for correct mold and shade

  • Place wax on baseplate and set teeth on the arch in proper alignment to achieve proper function and good aesthetics. If setting for wax try-in, soak model in water before set-up. Check occlusion to be sure correct bite relationship has been achieved

  • All other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

  • Excellent eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity

  • Detail oriented

    Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Must have 12 months of experience as a Dental Laboratory Technician and is skilled in one or more of the tasks associated with a Dental Laboratory Technician.

Hazardous Materials or Equipment Used:

  • Small machinery

  • Hand-pieces

  • Chemicals

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.

  • Required to sit, stand, walk, and/or reach.

  • Exhibit fine motor skills and/or perform repetitive motions.

  • Read and interpret prescriptions and other required documentation.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information.

  • Vision capabilities: depth perception, attention to detail, and/or color.

  • High School or Equivalent or better

Experience

Required

  • 1 year: At least one year experience in the denture department.
