Lilly Digital Platforms Data Analytics Architect in Indianapolis, Indiana

ERP Services – Digital Platforms is responsible for developing and maintaining our global Enterprise Resource Planning applications. SAP is Lilly’s backbone for all books and records, global commerce and trade and our entire supply chain. This position is accountable for the integration of SAP data used for analytics. Current technologies include SAP BW/4HANA application as well as HANA database with calculation views. Understanding and partnering with cloud (AWS) infrastructure teams will assist to guide the future of analytical solutions and tools used such as SLT, Solution Manager, Business Objects, PowerBI and Tableu. This architect role formulates direction for ERP Services – Digital Platforms strategies, plans, and architectures for their area of responsibility. The architect role understands the current state and future direction for the area and for the enterprise and influences leadership (business, technical, and administrative) to deliver Digital Platforms solutions that are aligned with enterprise data analytic needs as well as our business partnership goals. The Architect role is aware of internal and external standards that are relevant to his or her area of responsibility, assuring that projects make appropriate use of them in their designs and implementations.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Develop, steward, and manage current and future-state architecture strategy (analysis, planning, automation and AI integration)

  • Develop and influence key partnerships within the enterprise data analytic and reporting initiatives.

  • Develop and influence the use of tools integration within SAP data technology roadmaps and guidance

  • Technology trends and cross-functional capabilities

  • Identification of new services

  • Business alignment

  • Establish appropriate processes to ensure Lilly IDS evolves to achieve future architecture direction

  • Leadership and staff education on architectural principles (IT and Business) and Total Cost of Ownership (big picture)

  • Represent accounts’ interests in Enterprise architecture decisions

  • Emphasize Risk Identification and Management (reduce risk)

  • Identify synergies and reuse opportunities to achieve business process or account goals

  • Ensure exceptions to architectural standards and milestones go through the appropriate exception process

  • Work with many parts of the IT organization to assure that technologies within their architecture are appropriately supported (risk reduction)

  • Conduct architectural design reviews, including alignment with future state architecture, evaluation of technology alternatives, and cost impact analyses

  • Drive impact analyses for major technical changes (industry-wide or company-specific)

Your Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information or related field or equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years of Information Technology experience

  • Experience with at least 3 of the following SAP tools: SLT, Solution Manager, Business Objects, BW/4HANA, SAC, BTP, and CDS views

  • Experience working within AWS cloud architecture as well as PowerBI and Tableu technologies
