Matchbook Learning Interventionist in Indianapolis, Indiana

Who are we?

Matchbook Learning is a non-profit charter management organization in Indianapolis, Indiana who have launched a single PreK-8 Innovation Charter School in partnership with the Mayor’s Office and Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS). We are currently the largest K-8 in Indianapolis and #10 in the state for parent choice schools. Our innovative, award-winning blended turnaround school model, the first of its kind in the nation to be offered to schools with the highest poverty rates and needs, has already achieved extraordinary results. Now, we are excited to develop a scalable model for inner-city public education in Indianapolis.  

Who are we looking for?

The interventionist provides support to the classroom teacher. As a paraprofessional, the Interventionist will perform duties that are instructional in nature.  They will serve in a position that supports the teacher, students, or other positions in the school.  The teacher or another professional has ultimate responsibility for the design and implementation of educational programs and services supported by the Interventionist.  

Required:

  • Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment

  • Satisfactory criminal background

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience working in an urban or low income setting

  • Preferably enrolled in standard or alternate route program to obtain State Standard teaching certification

  • Minimum of a community college degree or transcript with 2 years of higher education

  • Has a demonstrated record of success working with children in urban, low income environments
