*2nd Shift-2:30PM-11PM Monday -Friday

Kelly Government Solutions is hiring for a machinist on a government contract with our customer in Indianapolis, IN. This is a contract to hire opportunity.

Required:

• Previous experience setting up and operating various Manual and/or CNC machine tools, including vertical and horizontal mills, lathes, drill presses, band saws, grinders, presses and other shop equipment with minimal guidance or training.

• Assemble and/or repair various parts, mechanisms, tools, mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, or machines, applying knowledge of machining practices, mechanics, shop mathematics and metal properties.

• Ability to interpret required documentation such as blueprints, sketches, specifications, CNC programs, & detailed routings, and capable of following detailed instructions either written or oral.

• Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications by inspecting dimensions and requirements using calibrated measuring instruments.

• Must be capable of holding close tolerances and fine micro finishes and must consistently produce parts within the established quality and cost parameters.

• Must possess knowledge in the machinability of ferrous and non-ferrous materials as well as plastics, fiber, and rubber materials.

• Good working knowledge of various types of cutting tool including the ability to determine the correct speeds and feeds.
