We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Mailroom Assistant in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a Mailroom Assistant, you will be part of a non-profit organization, playing a crucial role in processing and sorting mail, scanning documents, and maintaining a secure work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently sort and deliver mail within the organization

• Handle the pre-processing of memberships and other documents

• Operate scanning equipment to digitize documents

• Ensure the security of the mail room and adhere to company policies regarding the use of mobile phones

• Carry out tasks that may involve sitting, standing, walking, and lifting, as required

• Maintain cleanliness of your workspace, as the room is not accessible to cleaning crews

• Assist in the processing of customer applications and maintain accurate customer records

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action as needed

• Adapt to a production environment which may sometimes be noisy or dusty.

Requirements

• Proficient in mailroom operations including sorting and distributing mail

• Experience with scanning documents and maintaining digital records

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with excellent organizational skills

• Strong attention to detail in handling, tracking, and delivering correspondence

• Ability to lift and carry heavy mail packages when necessary

• Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability in previous roles

• Willingness to adhere to all mailroom procedures and policies

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
