Job Title: Material Handler Forklift

Job Description

The position is to be performing all duties in a small warehouse environment. This includes picking orders on a cherry picker, material handling with a pallet jack, packing, labeling, and shipping & receiving work. As a Material Handler Forklift operator, you will assemble and fill orders to be shipped to customers or other divisions.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload common carrier and company vehicles.

• Assemble customer orders to be shipped via UPS/LTL.

• Process paperwork regarding shipments including verifying merchandise, applying correct postage tape, filling out proper BOL information for LTL shipments, following customer shipping instructions, and insuring the shipment when necessary.

• Gather assembled orders in carts and verify their quantities and descriptions.

• Count and write the total quantity of merchandise being shipped on the invoice.

• Pack each order into a container and arrange the container onto a shelf according to truck route.

• Verify quantities and items being shipped against the invoice.

• Substitute for other warehouse personnel when needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Use a scanner for Warehouse Management System, picking orders and general put away of material after receipt.

Essential Skills

• Ability to meet deadlines.

• Excellent attendance record.

• Ability to work overtime as needed.

• Ability to stand on feet for entire shift.

• Ability to lift 50-75 lbs multiple times per shift.

• Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience.

• Experience on Stand-Up Reach Truck or cherry picker (cherry picker preferred).

• Experience with forklift, RF scanner, loading, pallet jack, unloading, shipping and receiving, assembly, order picking, packaging, packing, inventory, production, picking, sit down forklift, RF scan gun, warehouse inventory, general production, warehouse packing, electric pallet jack.

Shift & Pay

• 1st shift - Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5:30 pm

Work Environment

The environment is that of a small warehouse operation. It is not temperature controlled, but large fans are available to keep it cool. Steel-toed shoes are required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00
