The Robert Half Healthcare Practice is working with a healthcare practice in the Indianapolis area to add a Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist to join their team.

Hours for the Position: Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm (during training period) *Flexible start time after up and running

Responsibilities for the position include the following:

• Investigate and fix denied, unpaid, or incorrect insurance claims.

• Appeal claim denials, working with payers to resolve issues and track progress.

• Meticulously document all claim denial and appeal activity.

• Verify the accuracy of insurance payments.

• Proactively gather claim information through outbound calls to insurance companies.

• Resolve denials by utilizing online payer portals.

• Submit medical records to insurance providers.

• Maintain accurate logs, account notes, and system data.

• Analyze denials and appeals to prevent future claim issues.

• Stay up-to-date on payer guidelines and requirements impacting denials and appeals.

  Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• At least 2 years of experience in insurance denials required

• Knowledge of insurance guidelines, specifically commercials and Medicaid, across states preferred

• Ability to multitask effectively and respond to changing deadlines and priorities

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to operate standard office equipment such as a desktop, laptop, 10-key, and phone

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
