Element Materials Technology Operations Manager in Indianapolis, Indiana
Overview
Element has an opportunity for a Operations Manager .This position is located within the Rolls-Royce Excellence Building (Plant 8) in Indianapolis, IN. Element staffs the metallurgical, chemistry, and build labs. This position reports to the General Manager located in Daleville, IN.
Responsibilities
Manage high performing team of Engineers, Chemists, Technician, Machinists and Administrative personnel
Collaborate with the Element Daleville General Manager and Quality Manager to achieve and maintain NADCAP accreditation of the metallurgical and chemistry labs
Quality and Technical responsibility for Metallurgical and Chemistry laboratory preparation and testing methods
Oversee purchasing selections, drive customer concentricity, and continuous improvement and innovation activities
Meet Rolls-Royce production, research, and testing needs within a captive lab setting
Skills / Qualifications
A2LA/ISO17025 audit experience or extensive exposure is required
NADCAP audit experience or extensive exposure is preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role with a diploma or GED certificate
Working knowledge of laboratory safety with extensive knowledge of the current suite of testing capabilities
Ability to read and interpret test specifications, drawings, test plans and/or blueprints
Understanding of continuous improvement disciplines such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, etc. preferred
