Element Materials Technology Operations Manager in Indianapolis, Indiana

Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Operations Manager .This position is located within the Rolls-Royce Excellence Building (Plant 8) in Indianapolis, IN. Element staffs the metallurgical, chemistry, and build labs. This position reports to the General Manager located in Daleville, IN.

Responsibilities

  • Manage high performing team of Engineers, Chemists, Technician, Machinists and Administrative personnel

  • Collaborate with the Element Daleville General Manager and Quality Manager to achieve and maintain NADCAP accreditation of the metallurgical and chemistry labs

  • Quality and Technical responsibility for Metallurgical and Chemistry laboratory preparation and testing methods

  • Oversee purchasing selections, drive customer concentricity, and continuous improvement and innovation activities

  • Meet Rolls-Royce production, research, and testing needs within a captive lab setting

Skills / Qualifications

  • A2LA/ISO17025 audit experience or extensive exposure is required

  • NADCAP audit experience or extensive exposure is preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role with a diploma or GED certificate

  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety with extensive knowledge of the current suite of testing capabilities

  • Ability to read and interpret test specifications, drawings, test plans and/or blueprints

  • Understanding of continuous improvement disciplines such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, etc. preferred
