The First Databank (FDB) is currently seeking a Security Architect who is responsible for designing, building, and implementing enterprise-class security systems and solutions to protect First Databank's information assets. This role is key to establishing a secure architecture for the organization, ensuring that security is embedded within the design and development of systems and applications. The Security Architect works collaboratively with various teams to develop and enforce security protocols, policies, and procedures. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in security design principles and a forward-looking approach to emerging threats and technologies.

This role is ideal for a seasoned security professional with a strategic mindset and a passion for designing robust security architectures that anticipate and mitigate emerging threats.

Position will be based out of the Indianapolis, IN office.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop robust security architectures to protect the organization's digital assets

  • Create and implement comprehensive security strategies and roadmaps to address current and future security needs

  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to minimize potential threats

  • Ensure the security of cloud-based applications and infrastructure

  • Evaluate, select, and apply appropriate security technologies and tools to enhance the organization's security posture

  • Respond to security incidents and conduct forensic investigations as needed

  • Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth

  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and industry best practices

  • Drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the organization

  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide timely support for critical security issues

Required Skills:

  • Ability to achieve organizational goals through both direct and indirect influence on employees

  • Excellent analytical, programming, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

  • A strong desire and capability to quickly learn and adapt to new skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with all levels of the organization

  • Possession of relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or AWS Certified Security Specialty, is highly desirable

Required Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering is highly preferred

  • At least six years of experience in Cyber Security

  • In-depth understanding of security architecture frameworks, methodologies, tools, and best practices

  • Prior experience in highly regulated environments, such as healthcare, is a plus

  • Demonstrated proficiency in network security, application security, cloud security, and identity/access management

  • Familiarity with security frameworks and regulations, including HIPAA, HITRUST, and FEDRAMP

  • Hands-on development experience in C# and Angular programming languages

  • Experience implementing Identity and Access Management using OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect

  • Exposure to Identity Providers (IDPs) such as Okta and Auth0

In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in Indianapolis, IN. The reasonable estimate, if hired in Indianapolis, is $120,000.00 - $153,000.00. Please note this information is specific to those hired in location. If this role is open to candidates outside of location, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate’s starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
