Lilly Senior Analyst / Manager – SC BPKC Global Process Analyst – Store and Handle in Indianapolis, Indiana

The mission of the Supply Chain Business Process Knowledge Center (BPKC) is to provide technical and business process expertise to the global supply chain business processes at Eli Lilly and Company. These business processes span across the supply chain management towers of Planning, Buy & Make, Store & Handle, and Ship & Distribute.

Store & Handle supports the following are in scope: Warehousing (SAP SRM and SAP EWM), Warehouse Execution System and Automation System Integration (e.g. ASRS, AGV, Pallet Exchange, etc.) and Serialization (SAP ATTP).

The Supply Chain BPKC is responsible for business process and SAP training, consulting, high-level problem resolution, process improvements, innovation, project implementations, and tool and process governance. Our purpose centers on the use of SAP and global tools to make our Supply Chain business processes more innovative, productive, and control minded.

While this position will perform no IT technical configuration or SAP development, configuration knowledge and SAP implementation experience is strongly desirable. The position responsibilities focus on the usability of SAP and connected systems by our Manufacturing and Distribution Sites.

High-Level Responsibilities:

Project Implementation

  • Participate in large, cross-functional projects (e.g. implementing a new site or warehouse).

  • Lead small and medium projects utilizing project management techniques as appropriate (e.g. supporting the addition of warehouse space at an existing site; deploying system enhancements; migrating from manual to automated material flow).

  • Support design and development of business process and technical solutions to the global SAP environment in partnership with information technology and business users.

  • Participate in requirements gathering, design, testing, documentation, and training activities for projects impacting Store & Handle.

  • Provide Store & Handle expertise to other supply chain and finance teams.

Business Partnering and Innovation

  • Build relationships with business partners and end-users to grow business process knowledge.

  • Partner with non-SAP system teams (e.g. MES, site automation, local engineering) to deliver end-to-end intralogistics solutions.

  • Network with external parties to gain knowledge of latest business and technical trends, issues, and opportunities.

  • Leverage global Finance and Supply Chain business and technical experience to propose innovations that improve productivity and controls.

Process and Tool Governance

  • Work with process owners, Global Supply Chain, Site Supply Chain Teams, and Business Quality Assurance, non-SAP system owners to ensure the system is compliant to all external requirements and internal productivity targets.

  • Prioritize system changes for break fixes and enhancements in cooperation with the IT and Global Supply Chain initiatives.

  • Identify opportunities to maximize technology usage and benefits within the SAP environment.

  • Utilize data, analytics, and process mining tools and techniques to gain actionable business insights.

Consulting and Problem Resolution

  • Provide initial consulting and problem resolution to end-users related to Store & Handle questions and issues.

  • Resolve business and technical issues impacting global and local processes

  • Identify and act on incremental innovation opportunities based on consulting requests received.

  • Understand basic master data design within the Store & Handle space and its impact on transactional processing and reporting; provide recommendations to issues, break/fixes, projects, and governance rules accordingly.

  • Understand basic SAP role group design and security authorizations; engage security experts as needed to ensure sensitive information is protected.

Training Materials and Delivery

  • Provide Store & Handle business process and SAP training and formal knowledge transfer around key integration points and cross-functional implications of processes.

  • Share key learning points and system changes to the global community to increase business process knowledge and SAP proficiency.

  • Ensure training materials and process flows are up-to-date based on latest system and business process changes.

Basic Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree in Supply Chain, Information Technology, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • A minimum of 2 years of Life Science or GMP industry experience in SAP EWM and/or ATTP with business process knowledge and experiences in Supply Chain or at least one Store and Handle business process.

  • Previous experience in a logistics, warehousing, or operations analyst role.

  • SAP related project, consulting, problem resolution, or end user experience.

  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills.

Additional Preferences:

  • Ability to appropriately diagnose SAP and business problems, select or create alternative solutions, and effectively implement the solution.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a global, virtual, cross-functional team.

  • Ability to cooperate with people at all levels of an organization.

  • A growth mindset and the learning agility to draw upon previous experiences and apply them to new situations.

  • Curiosity to uncover root causes of issues and the drive to correct and prevent them.

  • Action-oriented and persistent to work thru ambiguity.

  • Effective project management skills to manage time, prioritize tasks, and implement mitigating steps to keep projects on schedule to meet deadlines.

  • Multi-lingual a plus.

Other Information:

  • Due to the nature of the global project and support activities, some overtime and/or “off hours” effort is required during peak business times.

  • Some international travel might be required if global circumstances allow

  • This position is US-based.
