O'Neal Industries, Inc. Senior Maintenance Technician - O'Neal Manufacturing Services SECOND SHIFT in Indianapolis, Indiana

Description

  • Commitment to workplace safety.

  • Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, machinery, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand, power and precision measuring tools.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components, using test equipment and hand tools.

  • Responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.

  • Calculate, lay-out/draw, balance and align equipment.

  • Perform rigging activities, safety-related functions and other miscellaneous maintenance functions.

  • Utilize or fabricate all types of mechanical parts (fitting, valves, etc.) needed from cold rolled steel, stainless steel, steel plate, structural steel members and other metals.

  • Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes at the country, state and federal levels.

  • Completing preventative maintenance routines, documentation and procedures.

  • Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.

  • Support continuous improvement.

  • Promoting and conduct good housekeeping practices.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of a four-year federally approved technical training program in mechanical or electrical repair and maintenance and two (2) years applicable experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Journey level electrical experience, preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of Computer Numerical Controls (CNC) programming.

  • Functional knowledge of the maintenance and parameter functions of FANUC, CNC and TwinCAT control systems.

  • Experience or ability to learn AutoCAD and MasterCAM computer software.

  • Demonstrated safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power) and forklifts and high lifts.

  • Demonstrated mechanical knowledge.

  • Ability to run existing programs and test programs on laser, plasma and drilling machines.

  • Physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolds and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures.

  • Proficient in testing electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.

  • Self-motivated/self-starter yet able to take orders as directed.

  • Competent with programming of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).

  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).

  • Speak, write and comprehend conversational English.

  • High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
