Description Robert Half is offering a permanent position for a skilled Staff Accountant to join their dynamic, rapidly-growing team. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will put your skills towards the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. This role is very integrated as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. What you get to do every day

• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

• Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable

• Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation

• Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

• Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

• Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

• Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives

• Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

• Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

• Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries

• Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations

• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

• Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting Requirements - Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

• Competent with spreadsheets and databases

• Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to meet deadlines

• Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

• Earlier work involving Microsoft Excel

• Background working with fixed assets

• General familiarity with Sage Intacct

• Demonstrated knowledge of account reconciliation

• Journal entries experience

• Practical knowledge of Fixed Asset Accounting

• Fixed Asset Accounting experience highly preferred

• Month end closings experience

• Proficiency in Month-end Journal Entries

• Adeptness in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Adjusting Journal Entries experience desired

• Account reconciliation experience

• Proficient in ERP systems

• Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

• Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

• Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
