Republic Airways Supply Chain Operations Analyst in Indianapolis, Indiana

POSITION PURPOSE

Interacts closely with leaders from various Supply Chain departments to gain strong business knowledge to provide analytics and help optimize the operational and financial performance of Supply Chain. Delivers process improvements, project management and relevant data and analytics for small to medium size projects.

  • Builds and implements efficiency tools for projects to help improve daily activities of key Supply Chain groups. Develops and executes accurate reports, budgets, models, dashboards and other analytic tools, including ad hoc analysis or projects to provide visibility to Supply Chain improvement opportunities.

  • Identifies opportunities to capitalize on process automation; develops requirements for and co-implements technology solutions to stream-line supply chain operations.

  • Determines requirements for procedural change, compliance reinforcements and/or training; designs and delivers solutions.

  • Analyzes data to accurately and relevantly calculate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other key business measures, while consistently exhibiting department analytic guidelines and governance of best practices.

  • Proactively looks for root causes, system variances and cost savings opportunities, including deep dives via data forensics.

  • Becomes a subject matter expert in airline operational intricacies to ensure accurate application of data, analysis and processes.

  • Exhibits an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Demonstrates a strong orientation to customer service. Proactively communicates and reprioritizes daily work to align with business needs as opportunities arise and priorities shift. Provides relevant analyses and clearly communicate recommendations.

  • Performs special projects as required and other duties, including teammate coverage and assistance with purchasing, planning, and repair operations activity, as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in Data Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, or related field or a combination of education and experience.

  • Proficiency with computer software. Comfort and ability to adapt quickly to new systems and analysis tools.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Excel.

  • Experience using report development software (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, etc.).

  • Strong skills in time management, project management, attention to detail and self-accountability.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and explain complex topics in an audience-appropriate manner.

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Previous Supply Chain and/or airline/aviation experience.

  • Proficiency in at least one data analytics coding language (SQL, Python, R, etc.).

  • Experience using Microsoft Azure cloud tools.

  • Active participation in the Institute of Supply Management (ISM and/or APICS).

  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, Project Management, etc. a plus.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, Illustrated Parts Catalogs and Electronic Manuals and governmental regulations. Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

REASONING/PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITY

Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

DECISION MAKING

Makes day to day decisions used to support strategic direction. Decisions often require some thought and are somewhat structured. Decisions tend to be short term and usually moderate cost.
