What You'll Do

The Director of Human Resources provides technical HR assistance to the agency's management and executive staff, interprets and ensures compliance with HR rules and guidelines, and supervises the agency's team of HR professionals. Position is responsible for overseeing the agency's recruitment, onboarding, classification, fair employment practices, employee relations, performance management and evaluation systems, compensation practices, benefit and leave administration, and payroll operations. The Director is also responsible for developing strategic HR programs and practices that are consistent with the agency's mission, values and strategic visioning.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or Public Administration or other HR-related fields, or equivalent education and PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP

  • Minimum of 5 years of active, technical, professional HR experience, including employee relations experience, as well as experience handling investigations and administering disciplinary actions. Previous HR experience in human services a plus.

  • Mastery of FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO and other regulations related to employment

    Moderate travel is required to support LSI locations across Iowa.
