Technical Support Representative, Snow and Ice Equpment - BOSS Snowplow

As a Technical Service Representative, you will support industry-leading products built upon uncompromising quality and craftsmanship for our customers. Resolve and respond to technical inquiries promptly and accurately. Perform technical research to identify product issues and provide technical product support. Partner with distributor, dealer, and end-user service channels to deliver customer-focused operational excellence and be an advocate for product quality.

Work Location:

This opportunity is based out of Iron Mountain headquarters. Candidates should prepare for an on-site schedule, that includes 5-days on-site.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:

  • Respond to distributor, dealer, or end-user technical and quality inquiries/issues/complaints from a variety of sources (phone, chat, email, electronic case submissions, etc.).

  • Resolve issues by collaborating with other departments as needed to implement quick and accurate solutions.

  • Utilize current and future technologies to gain efficiencies in technical support (i.e. diagnostic tool advancement, remote support tools, telematics, augmented reality/virtual reality, etc.).

  • Create and publish Technical Service Bulletins.

  • Perform technical publication reviews for complete and accurate content (installation manuals, operator’s manuals, service manuals, etc.).

  • Support CAN Bus diagnostic tool development and implementation.

  • Analyze warranty data/case data/product complaints to identify trends and issues and recommend countermeasure actions to appropriate departments.

  • Assist Engineering team with product development, field support visits, and continuous improvement projects.

  • Provide subject matter input for the development of technical training content (eLearning, hands-on training, webinars, etc.).

  • Conduct and support hands-on training events, as well as inter-departmental training by providing technical support and presence as a subject matter expert.

  • Willing to pursue technical competence in emerging snow and ice technologies including GPS, wireless communication, job planning and tracking, telematics, CAN Bus, and others.

  • Support, advocate, and provide a strong customer-focused alignment. Build strong relationships with distributor, dealer, and end-user personnel, such as technicians, shop foreman, service managers, sales representatives, and end-users.

What Do You Need?

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent reqruired, plus 4 years of related work experience in a technical service, outdoor power equipment, automotive, electronics, heavy equipment, or hydraulics preferred. ---OR--- Associates Degree in a Technical Related field plus 2 years of related work experience in a technical service, outdoor power equipment, automotive, electronics, heavy equipment, or hydraulics preferred.

  • Up to 25% travel required - Ability to maintain an active and valid drivers licence.

  • Experience in the areas of residential or commercial snow removal equipment, fleet equipment maintenance, residential or commercial recreational powersports vehicles. Liquid deicing experience preferred, but not required.

  • Proficient at reading technical documents and specifications, including engineering specifications and drawings and electrical/hydraulic schematics.

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, influencing ability, strong problem solving, organization, and effective participation on cross-functional teams.

  • Willing to be very hands-on with BOSS equipment.

  • Strong technical aptitude enabling communication, understanding, and collaboration between technical service and engineering.
