Mitsubishi Chemical Carbon Fiber and Composites (MCCFC) is composed of several companies, but at its core there are two. In April 2013, two California Companies, Grafil, a carbon fiber manufacturer in Sacramento and Newport Adhesives and Composites, a prepreg manufacturer in Irvine, were merged to create Mitsubishi Rayon Carbon Fiber and Composites (MRCFAC); then in 2017, we re-branded to MCCFC. Since our merge, we have made multiple acquisitions within the United States. In addition to these acquisitions, we have continued to improve and expand our current facility’s capabilities. Mitsubishi MCCFC Division is seeking a, is seeking a Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager to join a team committed to excellence, continuous improvement and driving sustainable business results. The Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective Quality Assurance (QA) program that ensures compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. This individual manages and coordinates the activities of the ISO/AS Quality Management System, as well as various regulatory and statutory compliance activities, including but not limited to Export Compliance and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) compliance. What You Will Do...

  • Manage and Oversee Quality Assurance standard and Compliance Activities: Manage and control the employees and activities related to Quality Assurance, ISO/AS standard, Export Compliance, and HS&E compliance, with a focus on improving quality/safety objectives.

  • Enhance Operational Efficiency: Implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and economy.

  • Evaluate Organizational Effectiveness: Assess organizational performance against weekly, monthly, and annual goals. Develop and implement new or revised departmental policies, procedures, and goals as needed.

  • Ensure Legal and Regulatory Compliance: Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions. Ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are compliant. Liaise with corporate counsel on contracts, agreements, and legal documents, and address new or changing regulatory requirements at international, federal, state, and local levels.

  • Promote Workplace Safety: Help establish and enforce safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe working environment, setting a positive example for others to follow.

  • Analyze department budget requests to identify potential cost reductions and allocate the operating budget accordingly.

  • Develops, maintains and analyzes statistical data and product data to determine present standards and established quality requirements and reliability of finished product.

  • Develops and maintains quality control objectives, evaluates quality objective performance against production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize cost, through improvement of best practices and documenting organizational knowledge into procedures and work instructions to meet continuous improvement, quality and safety objectives.

  • Supports new product development activity scale up through customer qualification. Interacts with sales & marketing, maintains archives AS9102 (FAI) for new products and their qualification programs.

  • Develops meaningful metrics for management action (SQC, SPC, Pareto, Cp, Cpk, control charts, uses statistical techniques, T-test, gage R&R, etc.) to provide feedback on process and product capabilities, continual improvement efforts to the QMS.

  • Evaluate Organizational Effectiveness: Assess organizational performance against established weekly, monthly, and annual goals and objectives. Develop and implement revised or new departmental policies, procedures, and goals as needed.

  • Demonstrate Exemplary Conduct: Exhibit exemplary conduct at all times when interacting with other MCCFC CMD employees and external contacts. Contribute to fostering a positive, safe, and team-oriented environment.

  • Additional Responsibilities may be assigned and expected to perform any relevant related duties as required by top management, meeting acceptable standards.

What You Will Have...

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Required in fields such as, Engineering, Chemical, Quality Management, or a related field.

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AS9100/ISO Lead Auditor, Six Sigma, or compliance-specific certifications.

  • Quality Assurance Experience: 5-10 years of experience in quality assurance or a related field, including experience.

  • Compliance Experience: Proven experience in regulatory compliance within the industry, with knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.

  • Leadership Experience: At least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role, leading QA and compliance teams.

  • Audit Experience: Experience conducting and managing internal and external audits, with the ability to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement plans.

  • Risk Management: Strong background in identifying and managing quality and compliance risks.

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Project Management: Effective project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

  • Team Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff.

Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)

  • The salary range for this position is $127,304 - $159,130. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
