As a Portfolio Manager within the Real Estate Banking team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the robustness and resilience of JPMorgan Chase. Your responsibilities will include managing a portfolio of commercial real estate credits and relationships. You will work closely with the REB Coverage and Risk teams to ensure comprehensive and accurate portfolio reporting, using advanced data management and portfolio management techniques. You will contribute to the firm's responsible growth by proactively identifying and mitigating new and emerging risks. Using your expert judgment, you will address real-world challenges that impact our company, clients, and communities.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct enhanced and in-depth portfolio monitoring.
Coordinate with the Commercial Real Estate Market Surveillance team.
Collaborate with the REB Risk Team, Client Executives, and other internal product partners
Prepare and submit annual review packages by established deadlines, including thorough analysis of guarantors/sponsors and related commercial real estate loans and/or other credit products
Ensure consistency and quality while monitoring timeliness.
Continuously monitor the portfolio for risk rating appropriateness and perform off-cycle risk rating changes as needed
Maintain system data ownership, quality, and timely updates for internal reporting, portfolio reviews, and criticized loan management.
Continuously monitor borrower activities to ensure adherence to the binding loan documents, including financial covenants, reporting requirements, and other contractual obligations.
Thoroughly review and interpret the terms and conditions of loan agreements to understand the obligations and requirements of borrow
Participate in special ad hoc projects as necessary.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or real estate.
3+ years of experience in commercial real estate, commercial loan management, or debt financing.
In-depth knowledge of credit analysis and experience evaluating risk across multiple product types, including office, retail, industrial, and multifamily.
Highly motivated, detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team comprised of local and remote colleagues.
Adept at interpreting and detecting issues that impact risk rating rationale.
Experience presenting information in an organized manner that concisely expresses ideas and proposes effective solutions.
Ability to work under critical time constraints while managing multiple deadlines.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Completion of a formal credit training program.
Experience with ground-up construction, value-add, and stabilized asset types.
Passion for commercial real estate.
Advanced Excel skills.
