Edwards Lifesciences Senior Director of Corporate Data and Analytics Strategy in Irvine, California

The individual will lead the Corporate Data and Analytics Strategy team. This team is responsible for the following:

  • Strategic leadership and thought partnership on data-related topics across the organization

  • Providing differentiated data analysis to support company’s commercial and strategic efforts

  • Leadership of the company’s central competitive intelligence function

  • Leadership of company-wide business performance measurement process

  • Co-leadership of the company’s out-of-system digital patient activation activities

How you will make an impact:

  • Define org-wide big data strategy in collaboration with other key stakeholders

  • Identify and prioritize big data use cases (patient journey, population sizing and segmentation, select system-level analysis) in collaboration with Business Units (BUs), regions, and functions

  • Identify data-related strategic initiatives for further exploration and lead cross-functional teams to execute these initiatives

  • Lead team of data scientists and analysts to execute prioritized analyses and manage organization-wide disease-state models

  • Comprehensively understand portfolios and actions of Edwards competitors; succinctly communicate strategic implications to executive stakeholders

  • Execute and identify opportunities to continuously improve the company’s business performance measurement process

  • Identify opportunities to partner with external entities on technologies that facilitate patient diagnosis

  • Effectively communicate findings to senior-level stakeholders

What you’ll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's Degree with 14 years of experience in a scientific, technical, or quantitative field or

  • Master's Degree with 12 years of experience

  • Substantial familiarity with big data analysis and leadership of big data projects as well as experience in corporate strategy, functional strategy, strategy consulting, and/or upstream marketing

  • Experience working in healthcare, preferably in medical devices

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • Experience with healthcare data

  • Experience communicating at an executive level

  • Proven successful project management leadership skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related tools and systems

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making

  • Recognized as an external thought leader with broad-based expertise extending beyond immediate sub-function(s) and related functions to include general business principles

  • Expert understanding and interpretation of complicated market dynamics with the ability to identify and quantify market potential, and build business case with both business and financial analysis skills

  • Expert understanding of related aspects of processes and/or systems

  • Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate value to the business

  • Strict attention to detail

  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels

  • Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment

  • Ability to represent leadership on programs or org-specific strategic initiatives within multiple areas, interfacing with project managers, cross-functional teams and leadership team

  • Ability to consult in program setting within multiple areas, deeper or more dedicated advisory role, interfacing with more senior management

  • Develop relationships and leverage them to influence change

  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $199,000 to $282,000 (highly experienced).
