The Senior Manager, EHS will manage a team and activities to ensure alignment with health and safety guidelines and processes, while ensuring compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards.

You’ make an impact by:

• Manage and oversee the work of assigned team within own function and may indirectly manage cross-functional or matrix teams as appropriate while ensuring compliance with the EHS procedures, local government/corporate regulations, policies, programs, and industry standards while interfacing with environmental agencies.

• Manage activities with the accountability for successful completion of all deliverables. Identify risk, develop mitigation strategies, defining alternative solutions, resolving issues, delegating and following-up on action items in collaboration with cross functional and/or matrixed teams.

• Develop a robust talent development plan in alignment with functional growth strategies of the department.

• Lead complex EHS regulatory inspections, evaluate and provide follow up with the implementation of the corrective and preventive actions encountered during inspections.

• Responsible for multiple EH&S related certifications and programs (e.g., ergonomics, occupational health) that align with key business strategies.

• Perform data and statistical analysis in order to prepare and submit required EHS reporting to management team and Corporate EHS as well as metrics publishing at the plant.

• Develop EHS strategy in collaboration with leadership.

• Other incidental duties: Keep management current on EHS regulations and other aspects that can impact the plant.

What you’ll need:

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field relevant EHS experience.

• Demonstrated track record in people management.

• Experience working in a regulated industry.

What else we look for:

• Expert understanding of related environmental regulations (e.g., Air, water, waste, energy).

• Expert understanding of general industry OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and ISO regulations.

• Expert understanding of EW EHS procedures while addressing issues with impact beyond own team based on knowledge of related disciplines.

• Knowledge of financial mechanism that relates to EHS (e.g., budgeting).

• Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of EHS to the business.

• Proven successful project management leadership skills.

• Proven expertise in both Microsoft Office Suite and related systems.

• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills including high discretion/judgment in decision making.

• Excellent documentation and communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives.

• Demonstrated ability to manage assigned team and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations.

• Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment.

• Frequently interacts with customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between cross-functional teams and the company; often leads a cooperative effort among members of a project team.

• Participate and present at meetings with internal and external representatives.

• Develop peer, cross functional and cross business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness.

• Develop relationships and leverage them to influence change

• Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $115,000 to $163,000 (highly experienced).
