About the Opportunity

The senior communications leader will oversee global communication and public affairs for J&J MedTechs Electrophysiology, Neurovascular, and Aesthetics & Reconstruction businesses.

This rapidly growing portfolio consistently delivers double-digit growth and touches the lives of more than 1.2 million patients each year.

  • Electrophysiology: J&J MedTech is the global leader in the science of heart rhythm disorders through its Biosense Webster products. The company developed the first real-time, 3D cardiac mapping and navigation technology, and the first electrophysiology catheter.

  • Neurovascular: J&J MedTechs CERENOVUS portfolio offers a broad range of devices used in the endovascular treatment of hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke.

  • Aesthetics & Reconstruction: J&J MedTech is the leader in the global breast-aesthetics industry as a developer, manufacturer, and marketer of innovative products for surgical breast augmentation and breast reconstruction.

This Senior Director is responsible for leading a diverse, global team of communicators in setting and delivering a communications strategy across all audiences for these businesses, including customers and HCPs, employees, media, investors, policy makers and other business stakeholders globally.

Reporting to the Global Head of Cardiovascular Communications & MedTech Patient Advocacy & Storytelling, the role will be an active member of the cross-functional business leadership team and a key contributor in enhancing the creativity, connectivity, efficiency, and ultimately the business impact of the MT CPA organization, which is accountable for:

  • External Corporate Communications and positioning: Strategic narrative, executive thought leadership, innovation communications, event and medical meeting communications, media relations, and issues management

  • Employee and internal communications: Employee communications strategy, management of key communications channels, change management communications; business partnership with HR, supply chain, and R&D teams

  • Leadership and team development: GCA and CPA leadership and contributions to functional excellence, strategic leadership partnership for business platforms, performance and talent development of team Building and protecting brand reputation through paid, earned, and owned media and public affairs

  • Driving business growth through strategic marketing and commercial communications

  • Mobilizing business strategy, activating employee culture, and managing change through employee engagement

  • Positively impacting society through partnerships and programs around the world

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree Required, MBA or Graduate Studies a plus

  • 12 years of experience in a brand, communications, or marketing role required

  • 5 years of people management experience is required

  • Strong strategic and operational skills

  • A career focus in external corporate communications and positioning; employee and internal communications; and leadership

  • Success working in a highly matrix global environment, with experience creating and leading cross-functional teams to deliver business impact

  • Demonstrated resilience and perseverance in shaping new approaches in ambiguous situations

  • Understanding of CommTech and how to use modern tools for creativity, content creation, measurement, and reporting

  • A natural collaborator with a proven track record at managing multiple stakeholders, driving new approaches and measurable results.

  • Experience in hiring and leading teams throughout a rapid pace of change with a high level of ambiguity.

  • Proven track record in creating trusted partnerships with senior leaders.

  • Strong writing, presentation, communication, and project management skills; Experience in creating compelling data visualization and storytelling.

  • Proven ability to influence the external environment particularly in the healthcare professional space

  • MedTech and/or Electrophysiology, Neurovascular, or Aesthetics & Reconstruction experience is a plus

Salary

The base pay range for this position is USD $163,000 - $282,000.

Bonus

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporations performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Companys discretion on an individual basis.

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
