Job Description

The Credit Risk Modeling Analyst II is responsible for the development and management of credit risk modeling used for loan originations, account management and collections, loan loss forecasting, capital plans, and stress testing. This person will manage credit risk model development and implementation independently and through collaboration with stakeholders throughout the organization.

  • Develop, document, and provide high-level support of Probability of Default Models.

  • Research and apply enhancements to existing suite of models to improve accuracy.

  • Work closely with business and management to provide value added solutions for the enhancement of risk-return tradeoff.

  • Independently develops and produces analysis related to loan origination, performance and forecasting, to include manipulating and interpreting data, analyzing/identifying trends, and reports findings.

  • Completes ad hoc projects related to the entire function of credit risk, and summarizes results using verbal, written, and formal presentation techniques.

  • Participate in quarterly model review and performance testing.

  • Summarizes analysis and communicates information to various levels of management.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in an applied quantitative field such as Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or Finance, or equivalent work experience.

  • Two (2) plus years of experience with predictive modeling, including various forecasting techniques such as Logistic Regression, Generalized Linear Models, Decision Trees, Neural Networks, Markov, Multivariate Analysis, and Monte Carlo.

  • Experience in Computational Finance with an understanding of loan origination and operational strategies and how various approaches can impact the various elements of cash flows, ROAs, and IRRs.

  • Experience working with credit data, such as Originations credit policy, Servicing and Collections analytics, and Loss Forecasting / Loan Loss Reserves.

  • Knowledge and experience with advanced statistical concepts and financial analytics in risk modeling.

  • Understanding of GAAP principles related to loss forecasting and stress-testing, particularly Allowance for Loan Losses (ALL), CECL, SOX, Frank-Dodd, CCAR, and Basel.

  • Strong Programming skills in SQL, SAS, and VBA, advanced Excel required.

  • Excellent business judgment and risk assessment skills as demonstrated by previous work or academic experience in an analytic role.

  • Understanding of data sources/warehouses, data mining and data analysis techniques.

  • Quantitative skills, with ability to analyze detailed statistics, and summarize findings.

  • Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks/deadlines.

  • Effective written and verbal presentation skills.

  • Ability to adapt to rapid change.

  • Proficiency with MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

Compensation Information

Salary Range: $61,800 - $85,350

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
