Citigroup Engineering Group Manager in Irving, Texas

Citibank, N.A. seeks an Engineering Group Manager for its Irving, TX location.

Duties: Coordinate the platform certification and the SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) teams to deliver performance engineering, benchmarking, certification and performance automation solutions for the personal banking and wealth management applications. Provide platform performance certification services for all next generation platforms and core application services supporting personal banking and wealth management programs. Architect and review the design implementation across technologies like Java/J2EE, Reactive Netty framework, Spring Boot, Oracle, Solace, Kafka, GemFire, Pivotal Cloud Foundry and OpenShift. Conduct performance certification using tools like Microfocus ALM, LoadRunner, JMeter, SOAP UI, for application and platform products. Involve in test strategy preparation, performance test executions, performance bottleneck analysis, and identification of scalability limits. Work directly with stakeholders/partners to ensure application and platform products are well tuned by using profiling tools like Yourkit. Provide performance tuning recommendations to development teams, with the goal of optimizing the customer experience. Responsible for performing Chaos experiments/testing using Chaos Monkey/Gremlin for critical applications to build confidence in the system's capability to withstand turbulent conditions in production. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications Engineering, or a related field, and seven (7) years of experience in the job offered, or in a related occupation in the banking and financial services industry. Seven (7) years of experience must include: Working with Java/J2EE, Spring boot, Bit bucket, Oracle, Mongo DB, and Kafka technologies to help architect and design efficient microservices for core platform services; Working with complex technical stack architecture including APIGEE, AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Openshift, Gemfire, Redis, and Data Power to ensure effective performance test strategies are prepared and executed; Utilizing APM/Profiling tools including App Dynamics, Splunk, Kibana, Prometheus, Yourkit, Jprofiler, and Httpwatch for application hotspot triage and resolving performance problems before production; Conducting Chaos engineering using Gremlin and Chaos Monkey tools, designing effective chaos attacks within the blast radius, and analyzing hypothesis with actual test results; Utilizing performance engineering tools including Microfocus ALM, LoadRunner, Jmeter, SOAP UI, and Jmeter for effective performance test execution; and Working with Jira and Confluence tools and review business use cases to derive the non-functional requirements. 40 hrs./wk.
