Citigroup ICM Funds Underwriting Analysis Team Lead, Vice President in Irving, Texas

Institutional Credit Management (ICM) is a critical component of Citi’s First Line of defense for wholesale and counterparty credit risk (CCR) management. ICM works with Independent Risk teams to ensure best-in-class risk and controls, and client responsiveness. Key responsibilities of the group include credit analysis, documentation, risk identification, exposure monitoring and stress testing. ICM coordinates with credit management groups across Markets as well as Banking to ensure full alignment on business and regulatory goals, as well as consistency and best practices.

Within ICM Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR), ICM Funds Underwriting is a global team responsible for measuring, monitoring and controlling counterparty risk for Funds, covering Asset Management Companies, Investment Advisors as Agent, and Pension Funds. ICM CCR Funds Underwriting Analysis Team Leads are responsible for leading and coordinating group of analysts for credit analysis including credit approval memorandum and other day-to-day underwriting activities, ensuring quality and timely delivery, while being responsible for coaching and supervision of underwriting analysts.

This role has responsibility for the portfolio of Funds relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure best in class credit risk analysis of Funds portfolio upkeeping consistencies with industry leading practices and conforms to all internal credit procedures & policies, and all related regulatory requirements

  • Support the ICM CCR Funds Underwriting Head on the continuous engagement with business and independent Risk stakeholders to address any concerns regarding execution of risk analysis and/or emerging risks, and ensuring the execution of these guidelines is reflected on all core deliverables of the team

  • Partner with stakeholders in Markets, Banking, and Independent Risk in the implementation of credit assessment and monitoring standards for Funds Portfolios

  • Enhance and standardize credit analysis processes, MIS and ensure consistency globally

  • Elevate risk analysis standard, product knowledge, and productivity across Funds underwriting analysts

  • Attract, develop and retain top quality staff in recruiting efforts to ensure a robust pipeline of talents

  • Ensure on-going training and timely feedback to underwriting analysts to sustain a strong credit underwriting standard, culture and an unwavering commitment to excellence in analysis and execution

  • Support ICM CCR Funds Underwriting Head on projects and initiatives

  • Support Citi Voice of the Employee (VOE) initiatives

  • Travel (less than 10%)

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Demonstrable 5-7 years of financial services and credit underwriting experience in Banking, Credit Risk Management or equivalent experience

  • Solid knowledge of Funds industry and wholesale credit processes and organizational awareness, covered portfolios/products, and processes

  • Knowledge of Funds’ markets products and risk metrics

  • Experience managing, recruitment and training of credit underwriting analysts

  • Strong understanding of policies and procedures with the ability to execute change

  • Credit Officer (CO) or demonstrating the skills aligned with that designation

  • Thorough knowledge of Citi´s or Large Financial Institutions’ wholesale credit risk systems

  • Experience in preparing presentations for seniors

  • High awareness and adherence to the control environment including Quality Assurance and Quality Control

Skills/Competencies:

  • Experience and familiarity with Real Money Funds, Asset Managers, Pension Funds – Industry products and relevant CCR risk measures

  • Recognized as a skillful manager with a track record of building high performing team

  • Ability to think from first principle and challenge assumptions

  • Proven culture carrier

  • Highly effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and exert influence with and without direct authority

  • Strong organizational skills with ability and willingness to work under pressure and manages time and priorities effectively with little supervision

  • Sound written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely to audiences of varying levels of seniority

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) skills

Qualifications:

  • BA/BSc in Finance or Accounting or higher degree in Business (MBA), or any other related subject

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$114,720.00 - $172,080.00
