The Opportunity

Our Diagnostics business currently has an opportunity for the role of Raw Materials Planner for our Irving, TX location. The primary function of this position is to perform production planning, scheduling, and inventory management with limited supervision to maintain adherence to production schedules. The Raw Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring production needs, at optimal efficiency are being met. This individual will work collaboratively with a cross functional team including Demand Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Materials and Production to manage product raw material supply and inventory. The individual will be deploy inventory strategies, be responsible for product change and associated material planning implications, manage and solve exceptions, and drive supplier execution. They should be able to leverage data analytics and supply chain expertise to manage Planning system parameters and meet target inventory and service level goals while minimizing costs and obsolescence. The raw material planner will peform production planning, raw material procurement, scheduling and inventory management with limited supervision to maintain adherence to production schedules.

What You'll Work On

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

  • Analyze planning requirements and initiate appropriate action to support the production schedule and / or material demand.

  • Plan, order and manage inventory and materials.

  • Serve as liaison with other departments to minimize impact on schedule(s); serve as point of contact for production and material related concerns and communications.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Follow EHS rules and procedures for your department; report EHS incidents and / or unsafe acts and conditions promptly to supervision; forward any opportunities to improve the EHS program to supervision.

  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System.

  • Support of department through administrative and tactical execution of specific tasks as communicated by department manager.

  • Contribute to short term, mid range and long term organization goals

  • Facilitation/Execution of production planning and scheduling processes as well as materials management.

  • Works with Engineering team to develop Bills of Material.

  • Extracts data from ERP system to create various moderately complex reports used to identify inventory management, expired inventory, stock rotation initiatives, and other inventory/stocking issues.

  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of the information that is entered in the ERP system.

  • Assists with system implementations to improve forecasting and demand requirements planning.

  • Prepares, summarizes and presents data accuracy, delivery performance & other key metrics to assess performance, modify production plans & assess/prioritize focused improvement efforts to mid-level management.

  • Publishes KPI's as required for all inventory related metrics including: forecast accuracy, DIOH, scrap reporting, line order fill rate, stock levels and PD delivery performance.

  • Establishes back up plans for scenarios related to potential changes in product offerings, customer volumes, manufacturing changes, etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and demonstrated competence required.

  • 2 or more years of relevant work experience or exposure within a regulated environment to Sufficiently demonstrate the core jobresponsibilities of the position.

  • Ability to clearly, concisely and accurately convey communications ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships

  • Display socially and professionally appropriate behavior.

  • Ability to work independently and in groups.

  • Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills; critical-thinking skills.

  • Ability and aptitude to use various types of databases and other computer software.

  • Ability to prioritize; strong organizational and project management skills; ability and aptitude to provide solutions and contingency plans through the comprehensive review of alternatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, STEM, Business or equivalent and demonstrated competence.

  • 2 or more years’ work experience in Supply Chain Planning, Materials Management or related discipline from any of the following types of companies/industries: Manufacturing (preferably Discrete Mfg.), Health Care or Others.

  • 1+ years of experience with Supply Chain ERP system.

  • Six Sigma certification preferred.

  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed business environment.

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

  • Strong follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.

  • Software: MS Office Suite (primarily MS Excel – Intermediate or Advanced)

  • Systems: Oracle E Business , SAP or other ERP system.

The base pay for this position is $48,000.00 – $96,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
