Robert Half Staff Accountant in Irving, Texas

Description

We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Irving, Texas. This role is integral to our operations, primarily focusing on regular accounting activities such as month-end close, journal entries, general ledger, and reconciliations. The successful candidate will be proficient in a range of accounting systems and have a strong understanding of both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the general ledger

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries

• Carry out month-end close procedures

• Conduct regular bank reconciliations

• Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Maintain accurate financial records and prepare clear and accurate reports for informational, auditing and operational use

• Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines

• Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records

• Work with various accounting software

• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities

• Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Demonstrated experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Strong understanding of General Ledger maintenance

• Ability to create and manage Journal Entries

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Knowledge and experience with Oracle accounting software

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically

• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred but not required.
