$36.38/hr

Job Summary

  • Operates the specific vehicles used for the transport of products and the extraction of materials from the material production sites (quarries, etc..) in observance of the safety guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Complete Daily pre/post equipment inspections - report as needed.

  • Ensure areas under your scope of responsibility remain in environmental compliance and complete any needed environmental reports.

  • Ensure fill is placed in accordance with Fill Operating Plan (FOP) and regulatory guidelines.

  • Ensure site remains follows all MSHA, OSHA and EPA standards.

  • Inspect equipment prior to shift for safety, environmental and maintenance defects.

  • Inspect wear items on equipment & report as needed to shop, foreman, and management.

  • Load hoppers and trucks with limited spillage.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • For Excavators - Capable of setting and loading trucks efficiently to optimize production and be able of using rock breaker and/or processor attachments.

  • For Dozers - Capable of carrying a flat grade and adapt to fluctuating terrain including steep slopes. Be able to finish slopes with a slope board.

  • For Loaders - Has the ability to minimize overloading of customer’s trucks and remaining complaint with DOT weight restrictions.

  • Ability to understand and follow Employee Handbook and Safety Policies.

  • Follow oral and written plans and directions.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to use hands and fingers in order to type and carry reports should the need require.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands throughout the workday should the need emerge.

  • Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch should the requirement emerge.

  • Ability to sit for a long period of time, possibly more than 90% of the workday.
