The Siemens Tax Tech Lab (TTL) is a digital innovation hub utilizing the latest technologies to build the tax and customs function of the future . Our mission is to elevate our overall technology capability within the tax department while providing new and innovative solutions to alleviate previously manual processes. We are a dedicated team in the Siemens US tax department responsible for two major areas: income taxes and customs compliance for imports/exports.

We are seeking a team lead who has a wide breadth of technical project management skills who can communicate effectively across tax, customs, IT, and technology landscapes to deliver innovative solutions with maximum speed and value. Enabling agility and adaptability are key concerns as the regulatory environment we operate in is constantly changing.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach agile dev ops team responsible for creating / maintaining / implementing technology solutions within the Siemens US Tax department.

  • Management of department’s IT assets, including insurance of compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and Siemens internal policies, e.g. cyber security, data protection.

  • Keep abreast of developing technology landscape internally / externally to Siemens and oversee any migrations, upgrades, security incidents, etc.

  • Manage the ideation pipeline and bring ideas to life through successfully building proof of concepts and overseeing their lifecycle from execution, implementation, and maintenance.

  • Regular reporting to relevant stakeholders regarding status of TTL’s ongoing projects and activities.

  • Foster a diverse network across various Siemens organizations to create cross collaborative temporary teams that can easily develop solutions and remove traditional roadblocks.

  • Drive increase of departments “tech affluence”, ensuring all employees have the necessary skills / to perform their functions in a dynamically changing landscape.

  • Value add partner to various tax department teams, working closely to understanding the “what, why, and how” of their processes to prescribe solutions where applicable.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree where required or equivalent

  • 5+ years relevant business experience in finance, technology, or project management

  • Knowledge of tax / customs functions to better coordinate with stakeholders

  • Demonstrated success leading, developing, and implementing technological solutions

  • Excellent presentation skills and communication skills both written and verbal

  • Proven ability to communicate complex requirements to diverse stakeholders

  • Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness

  • Must value operating in a collaborative environment across many organizations

  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • MBA or other advanced degree

  • Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

  • PMP certification or SAFe certification

  • Experience with agile methodologies and leading an agile team

  • Experience using JIRA to manage team’s work

  • Experience with data analytics tools, methodologies, and techniques

  • Experience with Mendix, or other low code programing solutions

  • Experience with Alteryx, or other analytics process automation solutions

  • Experience with Tableau, or other business intelligence solutions

  • Experience leading / working in virtual teams

  • Understanding of cloud frameworks and solutions where applicable

  • Acquainted with Siemens organizational landscape and internal technologies

  • Bilingual in either English/Spanish or English/German

  • The pay range for this position is $88,300 - $151,400 and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
