You can G.R.O.W. with Us by becoming our Retail Sales Associate - Issaquah Store located in Gilman Village **SHIFT: Thursday-Monday, hours approx 9:30-6:30 THE ROLE Working under the direction of the Store Manager, accept hard to recycle materials to increase waste diversion, and educate customers about waste reduction and sustainability. Help to ensure the long-term success of the retail stores by selling brand-appropriate products which are reusable, recycled, or refurbished, providing customer service support, and building relationships with customers. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, AND ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Accept hard to recycle item drop offs, including potentially hazardous items such as batteries and fluorescent bulbs. Sort all material and log collection data. Promote and sell products designed to reduce waste. Educating customers about how they fit our Waste Zero mission. Opens and closes out the store each day, including compiling daily reports. Processes Recology customer bill payments and addresses basic Customer Service requests. Maintains visual standards and cleanliness of the store, including merchandising and facing products. Runs the cash register, handling payments and bank deposits. Educates customers about waste reduction. Communicate drop off expectations and alternative recycling resources to customers. Provides superior customer service to customers, both in store and over the phone and anticipates product needs. Communicates and cooperates with manager, other staff, and departments in store, over the phone, and through email and chat-based channels. Stocks product on sales floor. Continually expands knowledge of sustainability and brand-appropriate products and services. Provide information to Recology customers regarding collection schedules, rates, and billing details. Request, receive and/or fulfill transfer requests between stores. Partner with the Waste Zero department and/or independently create, lead, and run events to attract customers to the store. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is: Two years of experience in customer service and/or retail: or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite applications. Knowledge of retail sales operations, including industry standards, requirements and retail sales quality measures. Preferred knowledge of industry specific software systems (e.g., Tower). High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required. Valid driver's license preferred, b
