We are currently seeking a Construction Administrator in any of our New York offices (Ithaca, Albany, Farmingdale).

Our offices in New York are comprised of over 75 professionals, working in a highly collaborative environment, focused on public buildings including K-12 schools, regional governmental facilities, and international projects for USAID and other federal agencies. Our overall team of professionals provides innovative architectural design, building systems engineering, interior design, site design, civil design and 3-D Imaging services, including virtual reality, to clients regionally and globally. Designers engage modern building methods and technologies that provide real-world solutions resulting in more efficient and sustainable projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the bidding process and construction phase of projects (including onsite construction observations)
  • Schedule, lead, mediate, and document construction project meetings
  • Monitor and update construction costs and budgets
  • Negotiate construction costs for change orders and document and prepare change orders as required by contract
  • Review all contractor quotes
  • Monitor projects for conformance to contract requirements and construction schedule
  • Review and certify all contractor applications for payment
  • Coordinate closeout documentation substantial completion, punch lists, and final acceptance
  • Negotiate and resolve problems and disputes and keep all parties abreast of all situations in a timely professional manner
  • Maintain existing client relationships
  • Assist senior management with K-12 business development. This includes development of client relationships, pursuing new clients, attending interviews, proposal preparation, and attending conferences
  • May be assigned project management and/or professional design tasks based on education and experience


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or architecture with a minimum of 8 years related construction administration/management experience
  • Experience with New York state K-12 capital projects is required
  • Experience with business development for professional services is desired
  • Project management and/or professional design experience is desired
  • Extensive knowledge of construction including methods, types of material, code compliance, inspection standards, etc. as well as front-end of specifications and Owner / Architect contracts and Owner / CM Agreements
  • Has the ability to communicate effectively and interact successfully with clients, contractors & other professional disciplines
  • Must be able to synthesize team ideas and contributions, and to plan, organize and implement with successful and timely results
  • Strong written and oral communication, and presentation skills


Anticipated Hiring Range: $70, 000 - $85, 000. Please note that this range reflects the pay scale that Tetra Tech INE reasonably expects to pay for the role. The pay scale will also depend on various factors, such as job duties and requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
