VCA Colonial Animal Hospital is an 18 doctor hybrid hospital seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team as a Part-Time Relief Veterinary Technician for our specialty services for open shifts both evenings and weekends.
We are proud to be one of the premier providers of primary, specialty and emergency care located in the heart of the beautiful Fingerlakes region in Upstate New York. We serve our clients 24hrs a day 365 days a year.
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about providing advanced care and management of our clients and patients. This is a wonderful opportunity for a Veterinary Technician who desires a challenge and the opportunity to grow and contribute to a collaborative team. Compensation: $24 - $28 is based on skill set, experience, and licensure status. (LVT, VTS, CVPM).

The skills that you will be utilizing include a multitude of technical skills to include but not limited to:
Triage and assessment of the critical ill patient
Venipuncture
Catheter placement
Invasive monitoring
CT/Radiology
Anesthesia monitoring
Physical examinations and patient assessment
CRI's, blood transfusions, IV and oral medication administration
Laboratory work
Pharmacy
Medical record input- history taking
Client communication to include discharges and patient updates.
Technical ability to include compassionate handling and restraint, strong patient assessment and monitoring skills, the ability to perform supportive and invasive therapies and emergency procedure. Compassionate care of our hospitalized patients
