Salary Range:$16.00 To $19.00 Hourly

Hours | Schedule: 40 hours/week | Monday -- Friday with flexibility in scheduling

Overview:

The Clinic Clerk assists the clinic by performing patient care activities, clerical tasks, and other assigned duties. This role includes updating and organizing clinic information, coordinating work within the clinic and with other departments, and documenting participants' health information. The Clinic Clerk also reports relevant information to clinic staff and responds to inquiries from participants, caregivers, and Thome PACE team members.

Thome PACE® serves Jackson, Lenawee, and Hillsdale counties providing participants with a wide range of medical and supportive services in our Day Center located in Jackson, Michigan or in the comfort of their own homes. 

What you'll do:

  • Consults with clinical and medical team members on managing daily participant flow. 
  • Organizes daily clinic schedule.
  • Answers phones and greets participants and families.
  • Assures all exam rooms are cleaned, prepped, and stocked for participant use.
  • Assures clinic is stocked with office supplies, forms, etc.
  • Calls participants to inform them and family of appointment dates and times. 
  • Reschedules appointments as necessary, i.e. provider or family cancel appointment.
  • Responds to participant inquiries and relays messages or redirects to other team members if needed.
  • Faxes, copies scans, and enters and requests documentation.
  • Escorts participants to exam rooms and prepares participants to be seen. 
  • Collect and record vital signs and weight, including O2 sat and orthostatic BP, height and weight for new participants.
  • Assists participants in disrobing, positions participant in bed, chair or exam table and ensures they are ready to see nurses and physicians as appropriate.
  • Collects and enters data in spreadsheets and maintains logs.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings as requested by supervisor.

What it takes:

  • High school diploma/ GED.
  • CPR certification.
  • Six months clinical experience as a certified nursing assistant or medical assistant preferred.
  • One year's experience performing clerical responsibilities preferred.
  • Minimum of one year working with the frail and elderly preferred.
  • Certified/ licensed as a phlebotomist preferred.
